By Whats Up Worcester Staff
The EcoTarium in Worcester will host a welcome reception on Friday, March 13, 2026, to begin the Goddard Centennial Weekend. The event marks the 100th anniversary of Robert H. Goddard launching the first successful liquid fuel rocket in neighboring Auburn.
The reception takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the upper level of the museum at 222 Harrington Way. According to a media alert provided by the museum, planned activities include the unveiling of a Robert Goddard Moon Walk tile and stomp rocket demonstrations.

Expected attendees include municipal officials from Worcester, members of the Auburn Anniversary Committee, the owner of the Robert Goddard House, and museum leadership. The evening will also feature a screening of the film “Cap Com Go!” in the Alden Planetarium.
Founded in 1825, the EcoTarium operates a 45-acre campus dedicated to science and nature education. The museum features interactive exhibits, nature trails, and a wildlife zoo.
